Vocational rehabilitation is the key spot of the centre. It is a process which enables persons with functional, psychological, developmental, cognitive and emotional impairments or health conditions to overcome barriers to accessing, maintaining or returning to employment or other useful occupation.

St. John of God Agro Farm

It is a new venture of St. John of God Centre at Velloor, aimed at the vocational training and rehabilitation of the differently abled.

In consultation with & with the help of different government agencies we aim to establish the following:

• Poultry Farm
• Goat Farm
• Fish Farming
• Organic Vegetable Cultivation

Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kottayam

As part of the skill development for the children, a cooking class by "Jan Shikshan Sansthan Kottayam" which is sponsored by the "Ministry of Skill Development Entrepreneurship Government of India" had started at St. John of God Vocational Training Centre.  As of the 14th of June 2023, Four batches completed the course. 1 batch consists of 20 students and that makes 80 students who joined and completed the programme. The items the students made as part of the project is as follows:

• Chammanthippodi
• Pickle
• different types of juice
• Fruit Salad
• Cakes
• Custard Pudding
• Different kinds of Jams
• Pakkavada
• Bajji etc....

This training helped the students to develop their skills in cooking, moreover, they tried to cook at their home with the help of their parents.
