St. John of God College of Special Education                   

St. John of God College of Special Education was established in 2013 as a new venture of St. John of God Centre at Velloor, which is run by the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God. The College trains aspiring candidates to serve and work with children having intellectual deficiency and other disabilities.

MISSION                   

Our mission, as it was lived out by St. John of God, is to commit ourselves to the hospitality that promotes education, training, advocacy, rehabilitation and welfare of the differently abled by maximizing opportunities to develop their potential and participate as valued citizens of the country.                   

Training Programs in Special Education and Rehabilitation                   

The college offers two RCI approved training Programs in Special Education. 1. B.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation) : 2 year full time regular course recognised by the RCI (Delhi) & affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University (Kottayam). 2. D.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation): 2 year full time regular course recognized by the RCI (Delhi), Course Conducted by National Institute for Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) Secunderabad. 3. D.Ed Special Education (Autism Spectrum Disorders) : 2 year full time regular course recognized by the RCI, Course Conducted by NIEPMD, Chennai, to be launched soon.
