On 23rd May 2025, the staff of St. John of God Centre embarked on a delightful tour to Wagamon, Kuttikkanam, and Parunthumpara in Kerala. The day was graced with light rain and misty fog, adding a magical charm to the scenic landscapes. The refreshing weather, breathtaking views, and the joy of being together made the trip a truly memorable one. St. John of God Centre successfully concluded a one-month staff training programme centered on “Wholeness.” The programme aimed to enhance staff members' personal and professional growth through various sessions conducted by internal and external resource persons. A major highlight of the training was a session by Dr. Daniel Holzinger and Eva Maria from Austria, who led an insightful class on the ESDModel for Autistic Children, followed by a three-day intensive workshop tailored for the staff of the Autism Centre. One of the most memorable events during the programme was the visit of 30 staff members from St. John’s Kattappana, a brother institution of the Centre. The day was marked by shared learning, bonding, and celebration, reinforcing the spirit of unity and collaboration.

The event featured an engaging floorball training session, fun games, and a motivational class conducted by Mrs. Anitta, a professor at St. Dominic’s College, Kanjirappally, along with social work students from the college. Velloor, February 4, 2025 – The St. John of God Autism Centre was inaugurated today at 4 PM, marking a significant step in autism care. Madame Polignac from France unveiled the inaugural stone, while Rev. Bro. Pascal Ahodegnon, Prior General of the Hospitaller Order, officially inaugurated the center by cutting the ribbon. The blessing was conducted by Mar Thomas Tharayil, Archbishop of Changanassery Archdiocese, and Chandy Oommen, MLA of Puthuppally, delivered the presidential address. The event concluded with a public function and a tea party. The center aims to provide top-tier therapeutic and educational programs for children with autism, fostering a supportive environment for their development.
